Rachel Miller

OPENED 3pm Saturday 26 April

Because of the great diversity of graphic media and the profusion of subjects and techniques available to the draughtsman, a good drawing exhibition can be one of the richest and most rewarding experiences an art lover can have.

In a series of outstanding works by Hokianga artist Rachel Miller you will experience drawing at its very best. Rachel expresses a special eloquence in her process and range of effects including frottage, sfumato and chiaroscuro, making entertaining use of spontaneity, lightness, and wit.

Her tonal renderings put emphasis on spatial illusion which suggests physical sensations and pysychological ambience. Her gestural eraser marks create a textural but surreal sensation.

Strip is a very personal and original achievement and an exhibition that definitely should not be missed.
